The Tungam mask, like Mahakala, represents in a terrifying form an angry local deity. The mask is worn in various traditional dances together with fascinating and colourful costumes. The Tungam Cham, the dance of wrathful deities, it has even been given its name. It protects against negative influences and helps to overcome obstacles. The third eye symbolises knowledge and wisdom. The five skulls represent the transformation of the five causes of suffering into the five wisdoms.

This elaborately carved and artistically painted mask has the basic colour green. During Tshechus you can see them in red and blue as well. This mask is particularly magnificent and very decorative due to its crown. It beautifies your home, whether you place it on a shelf or hang it on the wall (two holes on top).
