Singing bowls are believed to be traditionally used both in rituals and, more mundanely, as food bowls during the pre-Buddhist Tibetan Bon culture. Today, singing bowls are used to aid meditation, religious practice, relaxation and healthcare. They produce sounds and vibrations when hit or circled with a mallet called Puja.
