In Bhutan weaving is an integral part of life and culture that is practiced throughout the country and is highly prized for its distinctive, complex patterns and bright colors. One cannot help but be impressed by the marvelously intricate patterns and quality of weaving found in Bhutan's finest woven textiles and national dress. Bhutanese weaving is recognized to be among the most sophisticated and complex in the world. They even have a special word for their textile art, hingtham which means "heart weaving."
