He is the emanation of the God of compassion. Before he was enlightened we vowed that he will rescue all those sentient beings languishing in the hell. He strove to rescue them from the burning hell and somehow he could empty the hell. Then he decided to relax but by the time he was from his trance he found that the hell was filled with sinned sentient beings. He failed to keep his promise and later on he was transformed to this form Chhagtong Chentong or One thousand arms and One Thousand Eyes after Buddha Amitabha came to his rescue. His entire body is filled with eyes symbolizing his omniscient power to see everywhere and anything on earth. One thousand arms signify his every willingness to help those who suffer. Two of his hands are folded in praying gesture. They hold the gem which grants all desires. His right hand holds a rosary which symbolizes his Gods prayer. His left hand holds a lotus flower which represents purity.
