Jampelyang is the divine God of wisdom. All the schools in Bhutan will have his picture because every morning students and teachers throughout the country pray to him seeking his wisdom. He can have many forms and if we worship to him, he will confer us with divine wisdom, mastery of dharma, retentive memory, mental perfection and the ability to speak fluently. He presides over the law of righteousness and all difficult or knotty problems of law he cuts with his sword. He is the patron of astrology and astrologers. He holds a flaming sword of wisdom and light in his right hand with which he cuts off ignorance and darkness. In his left hand he holds the book of divine wisdom and he sits on blue lotus. The book symbolizes Dharma. He is dressed in silk with gold and jeweled ornaments.
